Marriage of the Prophet Muhammad to Maimunah bint Harith

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's marriage to Maimunah bint Harith, and how it was not done while he was in Ihram.

Maimunah bint Harith narrated: that the Messenger of Allah married her when he was Halal (not in Ihram). (Sahih).He (one of the narrators-Yazid) said: "And she was my maternal aunt and the maternal aunt of Idn 'Abbas also".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو فَزَارَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ، حَدَّثَتْنِي مَيْمُونَةُ بِنْتُ الْحَارِثِ، ‏.‏ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ تَزَوَّجَهَا وَهُوَ حَلاَلٌ ‏.‏ قَالَ وَكَانَتْ خَالَتِي وَخَالَةَ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the marriage of the Prophet Muhammad to his wife, Maimunah bint Harith. It is narrated that when they got married, he was not in a state called Ihram which is a pilgrimage state of consecration. This means that even though it was an important event, it did not have any special religious rituals associated with it like some other marriages do. The main values taught by this hadiths are respect for family relationships and understanding that even important events can be celebrated without having to follow certain religious rituals or traditions. It also teaches us that we should always strive for halal or permissible things in our lives instead of haram or forbidden things as this will bring us closer to Allah and His blessings.
