Swearing by the Controller of Hearts

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) often swore by the Controller of the hearts.

It was narrated from Salim that his father said: "The swearing most frequently sworn by the Messenger of Allah was: 'No, by the Controller of the hearts"'.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الشَّافِعِيُّ، إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ الْمَكِّيُّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كَانَتْ أَكْثَرُ أَيْمَانِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ ـ ‏ "‏ لاَ وَمُصَرِّفِ الْقُلُوبِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about a phrase that was often used by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He would swear by saying “No, by the controller of hearts”. This phrase is a reminder to us that Allah is in control and has power over our hearts. It also serves as an encouragement to be mindful of our actions and words since Allah knows what is in our hearts and can see all that we do. We should strive to make sure that we are doing good deeds and being kind to others so that Allah will be pleased with us.
