QUICK LESSONS:
Do not take Oath By Idols nor By Your Forefather's
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should not take oaths by idols or our forefathers. An oath is a promise to do something, and it is important to keep our promises. Taking an oath by an idol means that we are promising something to the idol, which is wrong because idols cannot help us in any way. Similarly, taking an oath by our forefathers means that we are asking them for help in keeping the promise, which is also wrong because they have passed away and cannot help us anymore. We must remember that only Allah can help us keep our promises and fulfill our obligations. Therefore, it is important for us to make sure that when we make a promise or take an oath, it should be done with sincerity and truthfulness towards Allah alone.
