Believing in Allah, Not What We See

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of believing in Allah and not relying on what we see with our eyes.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet said: "Eisa bin Maryam saw a man stealing and said: 'Did you steal?' He said: 'No, by the One besides Whom there is no other God'. 'Eisa said: 'I believe in Allah, and I do not believe what my eyes see'."

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in God's justice and trust Him no matter what you are going through or seeing around you. Strive for truthfulness as lying can lead one astray from the path of righteousness.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of having faith in Allah and trusting Him even when what we see with our eyes may suggest otherwise. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was narrating a story from Eisa bin Maryam, who saw a man stealing but instead of believing what he saw, he chose to believe in Allah and not rely on his sight. This teaches us that it is important to have faith in God's justice and trust that He will take care of us no matter what we may be going through or seeing around us. It also reminds us that it is important to always strive for truthfulness as lying can lead one astray from the path of righteousness.
