Sunan Ibn Majah 2317 (Book 13, Hadith 10) #31669
Beware of Unfair Judgements

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) warned against taking advantage of one's eloquence to gain an unfair judgement, as it will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection.

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that the Messenger of Allah said: "You refer your disputes to me and I am only human. Perhaps some of you may be more eloquent in presenting your case than others, so I rule in your favor because of what I hear from you. If I pass a judgement in favor of one of you that detracts from his brother's rights, then he should not take it, because it is a piece of fire that is given to him which he will bring forth on the Day Resurrection".

QUICK LESSONS:
Strive for justice and fairness in all matters .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns us against taking advantage of our eloquence to gain an unfair judgement in disputes. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that if a judgement is passed in favor of one person that detracts from another person's rights, then the former should not take it because it is like a piece of fire that he will bring forth on the Day Of Resurrection. This means that we should not use our words or skills to manipulate others into giving us something we do not deserve, as this will be judged by Allah on the Day Of Judgment and we will be held accountable for our actions. We must strive for justice and fairness in all matters, even if it means going against our own interests or desires.
