Sunan Ibn Majah 2343 (Book 13, Hadith 36) #31695
Dispute Resolution Praised by the Prophet

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ sent Hudhaifah to judge a dispute between two people about a hut, and he ruled in favor of those who had the rope with which it was blinded together. The Prophet ﷺ praised him for his decision.

It was narrated from Nimran bin Jariyah, from his father, that : some people referred a dispute to the Prophet about a hut, so that he could judge between them. He sent Hudhaifah to judge between them, and he ruled in favor of those who had the rope (with which the hut was blinded together). When he went back to the Prophet he told him (what he had done) and he said: "You did the right thing, and you did well".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sent Hudhaifah to judge a dispute between two people about a hut. He ruled in favor of those who had the rope with which it was blinded together and when he reported back to the Prophet ﷺ he praised him for his decision. This teaches us that we should always seek justice and fairness when resolving disputes and that we should be humble enough to accept praise when it is due. It also shows us that even though we may not always agree with someone's decisions or opinions, if they are based on justice then we should respect them regardless.

The lesson here is that justice must be upheld at all times and that everyone deserves respect regardless of their opinion or decision as long as it is based on fairness and truthfulness. We must also remember to be humble enough to accept praise when it is due so as not to become arrogant or prideful in our actions.
