Sunan Ibn Majah 2361 (Book 13, Hadith 54) #31713
Treating Property Owners as Creditors

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that if a person dies with the property of another, they are to be treated as any other creditor.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah said: "Any man who dies and has the property of another man, whether he paid something towards it or not, (the owner of those goods) is like any other creditor".

QUICK LESSONS:
Pay off debts when alive; Treat those who die with the property of another fairly; Respect others' rights over their possessions; Be honest in all dealings; Uphold justice and fairness in all matters related to debt repayment.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about how to treat people who have passed away and still owe someone else money or property. According to the Prophet Muhammad, these people should be treated like any other creditor. This means that their debt should still be paid off even after they have died. It is important for us to remember this teaching so that we can make sure everyone is treated fairly and no one is taken advantage of in such situations. We must also remember that it is our responsibility to pay off debts when we are alive so that our families do not have to worry about them after we pass away.
