Performing Tawaf and Praying at the Maqam

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) performed Tawaf around the Kaaba seven times and then prayed two Rak’ahs at the Maqam before going out to Safa.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Messenger of Allah came and performed Tawaf around the House seven times, then he prayed two Rak’ahs. Waki’ said: "Meaning, at the Maqam,* then he went out to Safa".
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَعَمْرُو بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ قَدِمَ فَطَافَ بِالْبَيْتِ سَبْعًا ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ - قَالَ وَكِيعٌ يَعْنِي عِنْدَ الْمَقَامِ - ثُمَّ خَرَجَ إِلَى الصَّفَا

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrates an event in which Prophet Muhammad ﷺ performed a ritual known as tawaf, which is a form of circumambulation around the Kaaba. After completing seven rounds, he then proceeded to pray two Rak’ahs at a place called Maqam, which is also known as Station of Ibrahim or Makkah al-Mukarramah. After this prayer, he went out to Safa. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims to perform rituals such as tawaf and prayer with dedication and reverence in order to gain Allah's blessings. It also shows us that we should be mindful of our actions when performing religious rituals so that we can receive maximum benefit from them.
