Sunan Ibn Majah 2961 (Book 25, Hadith 80) #32315
Performing Tawaf While Riding

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised Umm Salamah to perform Tawaf while riding when she was sick, and he recited a verse from the Quran while praying facing the Kaaba.

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that she fell sick, so the Messenger of Allah told her to perform Tawaf from behind the people, riding. She said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah praying facing the House, and reciting: "By the Tur (Mount), And by the Book Inscribed.’" 52:1-2

QUICK LESSONS:
Be considerate towards those who are weak or ill; recite verses from Quran during prayer; have faith in Allah .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's advice to his companion, Umm Salamah, when she fell ill. He told her that instead of walking around the Kaaba during her pilgrimage, she should do it while riding on a mount or animal. He also prayed facing the House and recited a verse from Surat Al-Tur in the Quran. This hadith teaches us that we should be considerate of those who are ill or weak and make accommodations for them so they can still fulfill their religious obligations without putting too much strain on themselves. It also reminds us of how important it is to recite verses from the Quran during our prayers as this will bring us closer to Allah and increase our faith in Him.
