Invitation to Eat Despite Fasting

SUMMARY: A man from the tribe of Banu 'Abdul-Ashhal came to the Prophet while he was eating breakfast and was invited to eat, but he said he was fasting.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik – a man from the tribe of Banu 'Abdul-Ashhal – said: * "I came to the Prophet when he was eating breakfast and he said: 'Come and eat.’ I said: 'I am fasting. Alas! Would that I had eaten of the food of the Messenger of Allah .’"
