The Prophet's Last Meal

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad never ate a roasted sheep until he died.

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said: "I do not know of the Messenger of Allah ever seeing a roasted sheep* until he met Allah".
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ مَا أَعْلَمُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ رَأَى شَاةً سَمِيطًا حَتَّى لَحِقَ بِاللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the last meal that the Prophet Muhammad had before he passed away. According to Anas bin Malik, the Prophet never ate a roasted sheep until his death. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful of what we eat and how it affects our health, as well as being grateful for all that we have in life. It also reminds us to be humble and not take anything for granted, even something as simple as a meal. We should strive to live our lives in such a way that when it comes time for us to meet our Creator, we can do so with dignity and grace.
