Moderation in Eating

SUMMARY: Eating in moderation is important for a healthy lifestyle.

Miqdam bin Madikarib said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'A human being fills no worse vessel than his stomach. It is sufficient for a human being to eat a few mouthfuls to keep his spine straight. But if he must (fill it), then one third of food, one third for drink and one third for air.’"

This means that we should not overindulge in food and drinks, as it can lead to health problems. Instead, we should eat enough to keep our spine straight and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This hadith also teaches us about self-control and discipline when it comes to eating habits.
