The Blessing of Eating Quickly

SUMMARY: Eating food quickly brings more blessings than a knife cutting a camel's hump.

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said: "Goodness comes more quickly to a house where food is eaten than a knife to a camel’s hump".

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat your meals quickly for blessings and prosperity; do not waste any food; show gratitude for what you have been given; appreciate your meal times; practice moderation in all things.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of eating quickly. It was narrated by Ibn 'Abbas that the Messenger of Allah said, "Goodness comes more quickly to a house where food is eaten than a knife to a camels hump." This means that when people eat their meals in haste, they will be blessed with goodness and prosperity faster than if someone were to try and cut through the thick hide of a camel with a knife. The Prophet Muhammad was teaching us here that we should not take our time when it comes to eating our meals as this can lead to blessings coming into our lives quicker. We should also remember that we should not be wasteful with our food either, as this can lead to us being deprived from these blessings.
