Thinking Positively of Allah at Death

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that one should always think positively of Allah when they die.

It was narrated that Jabir said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'No one of you should die except thinking positively of Allah.’"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ لاَ يَمُوتَنَّ أَحَدٌ مِنْكُمْ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ يُحْسِنُ الظَّنَّ بِاللَّهِ

We should strive to live our lives according to His teachings so that we can have peace and contentment when we pass away. This hadith encourages us to remain positive even in the face of death and reminds us that our ultimate goal should be pleasing Allah with our thoughts and actions throughout life so that He will accept us into Paradise on the Day of Judgment.
