The Virtue of Humility

SUMMARY: Humility is a virtue that will be rewarded by Allah, while arrogance will be punished.

It was narrated from Abu Sa’eed that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever humbles himself one degree for the sake of Allah, Allah will raise him in status one degree, and whoever behaves arrogantly towards Allah one degree, Allah will lower him in status one degree, until He makes him among the lowest of the low".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us about the importance of humility and how it can bring us closer to Allah. It tells us that if we humble ourselves for the sake of Allah, He will raise our status in return. On the other hand, if we behave arrogantly towards Him, He will lower our status until we become among the lowest of people. This hadith reminds us to always stay humble and not let pride get in our way when trying to please Allah. We should remember that no matter how much good deeds we do or how much knowledge we have, it is nothing compared to what Allah knows and has done for us. Therefore, it is important for us to remain humble and grateful at all times so that He may continue blessing us with His mercy and love.
