The Generosity of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) providing water for people to perform ablution when there was none available.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: I saw Allah's Messenger at the 'time when the 'Asr prayer was due. Then the people were searching for water for ablution but they could not find any. Then some water was brought to Allah's Messenger and he placed his hand in the pot and ordered the people to perform the ablution with the water. I saw water flowing from underneath his fingers and the people started performing the ablution till all of them did it.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَحَانَتْ صَلاَةُ الْعَصْرِ، فَالْتُمِسَ الْوَضُوءُ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهُ فَأُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ بِوَضُوءٍ، فَوَضَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يَدَهُ فِي ذَلِكَ الإِنَاءِ، فَأَمَرَ النَّاسَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّئُوا مِنْهُ، فَرَأَيْتُ الْمَاءَ يَنْبُعُ مِنْ تَحْتِ أَصَابِعِهِ، فَتَوَضَّأَ النَّاسُ حَتَّى تَوَضَّئُوا مِنْ عِنْدِ آخِرِهِمْ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the generosity and kindness of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). It is narrated by Anas bin Malik that he saw the prophet at a time when people were searching for water to perform ablution but could not find any. Then some water was brought to Allah's Messenger and he placed his hand in the pot and ordered people to perform ablution with it. Miraculously, water started flowing from underneath his fingers and all of them were able to do their ablutions. This hadith teaches us that we should always be generous towards others in times of need as it is a sign of true faith. We should also have faith in Allah's power as He can provide us with whatever we need even if it seems impossible at first glance.
