Remembering the Prophet (ﷺ) in Supplications

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) asked Umar bin Al-Khattab to remember him in his supplications.

'Umar bin Al-Khattab (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I sought permission of the Prophet to perform 'Umrah, and he granted me leave and said, "Brother, do not forget us in your supplications". I would not exchange these words of his for the whole world. Another narration is: He said, "Include us, my brother, in your supplications". Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of remembering the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in our supplications. Umar bin Al-Khattab was granted permission by the Prophet to perform 'Umrah and as he was leaving, the Prophet asked him to remember Him in his supplications. This shows how much importance should be given to remembering and including the beloved prophet of Allah in our prayers. It also teaches us that we should never forget those who have done good for us and always include them in our prayers. We should also strive to make sure that we are not neglecting any of our obligations towards others when making dua or praying for ourselves or others.
