Giving Thanks to Allah After Meals

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) would always give thanks to Allah after finishing a meal.

Abu Umamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Whenever the Prophet finished a meal, he would say: "Al-hamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran taiyyiban mubarakan fihi, ghaira makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in, wa la mustaghnan 'anhu, Rabbuna. (All praise is due to Allah, praise which is abundant, pure, and full of blessings, which is indispensable and to which one cannot be indifferent)'.' Al-Bukhari.

QUICK LESSONS:
Give thanks to God after meals

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of giving thanks to Allah after meals. Whenever the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) finished a meal, he would say "Al-hamdu lillahi hamdan kathiran taiyyiban mubarakan fihi, ghaira makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in, wa la mustaghnan 'anhu, Rabbuna" which translates to "All praise is due to Allah; abundant and pure blessings that one cannot be indifferent towards". This phrase is an expression of gratitude for all the blessings that we receive from God. It teaches us that we should always remember and appreciate what we have been given by our Creator. We should not take anything for granted and instead show our appreciation through words and deeds. Furthermore, it reminds us of how blessed we are in comparison to others who may not have as much as us or even nothing at all.
