EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of eating with your right hand and saying Bismillah before you eat. It was narrated by Umar bin Abu Salamah who was a young boy under the care of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). One day when he was reaching into a dish to eat, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) reminded him to say “Bismillah” before he ate and to use his right hand. This hadith teaches us that we should always remember to say “Bismillah” before we start eating or drinking anything as it will bring us blessings from Allah. We should also try our best to use our right hands when we are eating or drinking as this is considered more polite in Islam.
