QUICK LESSONS:
Eat respectfully and mindfully by taking food equally around the edges of a vessel rather than all at once in one spot in its middle.
EXPLANATIONS:
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught us that when we eat food, it is more blessed if we eat from the sides of the vessel instead of eating from its middle. This means that when we are served food in a bowl or plate, it is better to take our food from around the edges rather than taking it all from one spot in the middle. This teaches us to be mindful and respectful of others when sharing meals together. We should not take too much for ourselves and leave nothing for others; instead, everyone should have an equal share. Additionally, this hadith also reminds us to always thank Allah for His blessings and never forget to show gratitude for what He has provided us with.
