Allah's Promise of Protection from Hell

SUMMARY: A Muslim who has lost three children will not be punished in Hell, as Allah has promised.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "A Muslim whose three children die (in infancy) will not be touched by the Fire (of Hell) except for the fulfillment of Allah's Oath". Al-Bukhari and Muslim. Allah's Oath here refers to His Ayah: "There is not one of you but will cross over it (Hell)". (19:71) And the crossing will be across the 'Bridge' set over the Hell.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the promise of protection from the fire of hell that Allah has made to Muslims who have lost three children. It is narrated by Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Prophet Muhammad said that a Muslim whose three children die in infancy will not be touched by the fire of hell except for the fulfillment of Allah's oath. The reference here is to an ayat in Surat Maryam which states “There is not one of you but will cross over it” meaning crossing over hell and this crossing will take place on a bridge set over it. This hadith teaches us about how merciful and compassionate our Lord is towards us and how He promises to protect us even when we are faced with great loss and tragedy. It also reminds us to remain steadfast in our faith despite any hardships or difficulties we face as believers because ultimately, God’s mercy and protection are greater than anything else we could ever hope for or imagine.
