The Difficulty of Travelling

SUMMARY: Travelling can be difficult and tiring, so when one has accomplished their purpose of journey, they should return home quickly.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "Travelling is a torment because it deprives a traveler of his food, drink and sleep. So when one of you has accomplished his purpose of journey, let him return home quickly". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏السفر قطعة من العذاب، يمنع أحدكم طعامه، وشرابه ونومه، فإذا قضى أحدكم نهمته من سفره، فليعجل إلى أهله‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عليه‏)‏‏)‏ ‏.‏ ‏نهمته‏ ‏ ‏:‏ مقصوده

EXPLANATIONS:
Travelling can be a difficult experience as it deprives a person of their food, drink and sleep. This hadith is teaching us that once we have accomplished our purpose for travelling we should return home quickly. This is because the longer we stay away from home the more uncomfortable and tiring our journey will become. We should also remember to take care of ourselves while travelling by eating healthy meals and getting enough rest in order to make our journey easier.
