Returning Home with Gratitude

SUMMARY: Returning to one's home in safety and praising Allah is a sign of gratitude.

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: We returned with the Prophet from a journey; and when we entered the suburbs of Al- Madinah, he said: "ayibuna, ta'ibuna, 'abiduna, li-Rabbina hamidun (We are returning in safety, turning to our Rabb, worshipping Him and praising Him)". He continued repeating these words till we entered Al-Madinah. Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Express gratitude towards God through worshiping Him & praising His name
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik speaks of the importance of returning home safely and expressing gratitude to Allah for it. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was travelling with his companions when they reached the outskirts of Madinah. He began repeating the words “ayibuna ta’ibuna abiduna li-Rabbina hamidun” which translates to “we are returning in safety turning to our Rabb worshipping Him and praising Him” until they entered Madinah. This hadith teaches us that we should be thankful for all the blessings we receive from Allah and express our gratitude through worshiping Him and praising His name. It also reminds us that no matter how small or big a blessing may be, it is important to recognize it as such and thank Allah for it. We should also remember that even if something bad happens in life, there is always something good behind it which we can be grateful for.
