The Importance of Regularly Reading the Qur'an

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) encourages us to read the Qur'an regularly as it can easily be forgotten.

Abu Musa Al-Ash'ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet said, "Read the Qur'an regularly. By the One in Whose Hand Muhammad's soul is, it escapes from memory faster than a camel does from its tying ropes". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.
عن أبي موسى رضي الله عنه عن النبي قال ‏ "‏تعاهدوا هذا القرآن فوالذي نفس محمد بيده لهو أشد تفلتًا من الإبل في عقلها‏"‏‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏متفق عله‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ encourages us to read the Quran regularly. He emphasizes its importance by saying that it escapes from memory faster than a camel does from its tying ropes. This means that if we do not continuously read and recite the Quran, we will forget it quickly and easily. Therefore, reading and reciting the Quran is essential for Muslims in order to remember Allah's words and teachings in our hearts and minds. It is also important for us to understand what Allah has revealed so that we can live our lives according to His guidance. Additionally, reading or reciting the Quran helps us stay connected with Allah through prayer and supplication which are essential components of a Muslim's faith journey.
