EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains the importance of performing the pilgrimage to Makkah known as Hajj. It is a religious obligation for Muslims to perform this pilgrimage at least once in their lifetime if they are able. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that those who perform this pilgrimage should abstain from sexual relations, sinning, and arguing unjustly while on their journey. If one follows these instructions then upon returning home they will be purified just like when their mother gave birth to them. This means that all of their sins will have been forgiven and forgotten by Allah SWT. It is important for Muslims to remember this teaching so that we can strive to make our pilgrimages more meaningful and beneficial for us in both this life and the hereafter.
