The Rewards of Ribat

SUMMARY: The deeds of a person who is on the frontier in Allah's way will continue to increase until the Day of Resurrection and they will be protected from trials in the grave.

Fadalah bin 'Ubaid (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "The actions of every dead person come to a halt with his death except the one who is on the frontier in Allah's way (ie, observing Ribat). This latter's deeds will be made to go on increasing for him till the Day of Resurrection, and he will be secure from the trials in the grave". Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi.

QUICK LESSONS:
Do good deeds even if it means sacrificing your life for your faith

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards for those who observe ribat. Ribat is a term used to describe those who are on the frontiers of Islam and defend it against its enemies. It is an act that requires great courage and dedication as one must be willing to sacrifice their life for their faith. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that these people’s deeds will continue to increase until the Day of Judgment and they will be protected from any trials or tribulations in their graves. This teaches us that we should strive to do good deeds even if it means sacrificing our lives for our faith as we can reap great rewards from Allah SWT both in this world and hereafter.
