Supplicating Allah for the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) asked his followers not to make his grave a place of festivity and to supplicate Allah for him, as their supplication will reach him wherever they are.

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "Do not make my grave a place of festivity, and supplicate Allah for me, for your supplication reaches me wherever you are". Abu Dawud.
وعنه رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ ‏ "‏لا تجعلوا قبري عيدًا وصلوا علي، فإن صلاتكم تبلغني حيث كنتم‏"‏ رواه أبو داود بإسناد صحيح‏.‏
