The Utterance of Subhan-Allah, Al-hamdu lillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar

SUMMARY: The utterance of the words "Subhan-Allah, Al-hamdu lillah, La ilaha illallah and Allahu Akbar" is highly praised by the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ).

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "The uttering of the words: "Subhan-Allah (Allah is free from imperfection), Al-hamdu lillah (all praise is due to Allah), La ilaha illallah (there is no true god except Allah) and Allahu Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)' is dearer to me than anything over which the sun rises". Muslim.
وعنه رضي الله عنه قال‏:‏ قال رسول الله ‏:‏ لأن أقول‏:‏ سبحان الله، والحمد لله، ولا إله إلا الله، والله أكبر، أحب إلي مما طلعت عليه الشمس” ‏(‏‏(‏رواه مسلم‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of praising God through words. It is narrated that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that uttering certain phrases such as “Subhan-Allah” which means “Glory be to God”, “Alhamdulillah” which means “All praise is due to God”, “La ilaha illallah” which means “There is no true god except God” and “Allahu Akbar” which means “God is Greatest” are more beloved to him than anything else in this world. These phrases are known as tasbih or hamd in Arabic. They are a way for us to express our love for God and remind ourselves of His greatness. Through these phrases we can also show our belief in Tawhid or Oneness of God. We should strive to recite these phrases often so that we can remember Him always.
