Riyad as-Salihin 1433 (Book 15, Hadith 26) #37922
The Power of Praising Allah

SUMMARY: This hadith is about the importance of praising Allah and how it is more important than any other form of worship.

Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith (May Allah be pleased with her), the Mother of the Believers, reported: The Prophet came out from my apartment in the morning as I was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found me sitting there. The Prophet said, "Are you still in the same position as I left you". I replied in the affirmative. Thereupon the Prophet said, "I recited four words three times after I had left you. If these are to be weighed against all you have recited since morning, these will be heavier. These are: Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, 'adada khalqihi, wa rida nafsihi, wa zinatah 'arshihi, wa midada kalimatihi Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure, equal to the weight of His Throne and equal to the ink that may be used in recording the words (for His Praise)". Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the power and importance of praising Allah. It was narrated by Juwairiyah bint Al-Harith who reported that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ came out from her apartment in the morning as she was busy in performing the dawn prayer. He came back in the forenoon and found her sitting there. The Prophet ﷺ said to her “Are you still in the same position as I left you” and she replied yes. Then he said “I recited four words three times after I had left you” which were “Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdhi adada khalqhi rida nafshi zinata arshi midadakalimati” which translates to “Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with His praise, as many times as the number of His creatures, in accordance with His Good Pleasure equal to the weight of His Throne equal to ink that may be used for recording words for his praise”. This hadith emphasizes how important it is for us to praise God because it has a greater reward than any other form of worship or prayer we can do throughout our day.
