QUICK LESSONS:
Speak kindly and truthfully about others

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks to the importance of avoiding spreading false rumors and calumnies. Calumnies are defined as making false accusations or statements about someone with malicious intent. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ warned us that those who spread such lies will not be allowed into Jannah, or paradise. This means that it is important to be careful with our words and think twice before we speak ill of someone else, even if we think it may be true. We should always strive to speak kindly and truthfully about others in order to protect our own souls from punishment in the hereafter.
