Riyad as-Salihin 1848 (Book 18, Hadith 41) #38337
Loving to Meet Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that Allah loves those who love to meet Him, and abhors those who dislike to meet Him.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "He who loves to meet Allah, Allah loves to meet him; and he who dislikes to meet Allah, Allah abhors to meet him". I ('Aishah) said: "O Messenger of Allah! So far as the feelings of aversion against death is concerned, we all have this feeling". Thereupon he said, "I do not mean that. What I meant is that when a (true) believer is given the glad tidings of the Mercy of Allah, His Pleasures and His Jannah (at the time of death), he loves to meet Allah, and Allah also loves to meet him. When a disbeliever is given the news of the Torment of Allah and His Wrath (at the time of death), he dislikes to meet Allah and Allah also abhors to meet him". Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in God; Love for Allah; Look forward to reunion with Him; Strive for righteousness; Be fearless towards death .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that if we love meeting with our Creator, then He will also love meeting us. It is a reminder of the importance of having faith in God and loving Him above all else. The Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him explained that when a believer is given the good news of mercy from God and His Paradise at the time of death, they will naturally feel joyous about meeting their Lord. On the other hand, when a disbeliever is told about God's punishment and wrath at the time of death, they will naturally feel fear and dread towards meeting their Lord. This hadith reminds us to always strive for faith in God so that we can look forward to our reunion with Him in Paradise instead of fearing it due to lack of faith or disbelief.
