Riyad as-Salihin 1884 (Book 19, Hadith 16) #38373
The Last Man to Enter Jannah

SUMMARY: This hadith speaks of a man who will be the last to enter Jannah and will be given ten times the world as reward.

'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah said, "I know of the last of the inhabitants of the Hell to be taken out from there and the last one to enter Jannah. He is a man who will come out of the Fire, crawling on all fours. Allah, the Rabb of glory and honour will say to him: 'Go and enter Jannah'. He will go to it and think that it is full up. He will then come back and say: 'O my Rabb, it is full up'. Allah will say to him: 'Go and enter Jannah'. He will again go to it and think that it is full up. So he will turn back. Allah will again say: 'Go and enter Jannah. For you have what is equal to ten times the world'. He will say: 'Are You making fun of me while You are the King?" At this I (ie, the narrator) saw the Messenger of Allah laugh till his premolars were visible and he said, "Such man will be the last dweller of Jannah in its lowest rank". Al-Bukhari and Muslim.

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith & trust in Allah SWT's mercy & forgiveness despite one's sins & lowliness in life .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of a man who will be the last to enter Jannah, or Paradise. He is described as crawling on all fours when he comes out of Hellfire. Allah, the King of glory and honour, then tells him to go into Paradise, but he thinks it is full up and returns back. Allah then tells him again that he has what is equal to ten times the world waiting for him in Paradise. At this point, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ laughed until his premolars were visible and said that this man would have the lowest rank in Paradise. This hadith teaches us that no matter how bad our sins are or how much we think we don't deserve it, if Allah wills it so we can still receive His mercy and forgiveness even at our lowest points in life. It also teaches us about humility; even though this man was being offered something great by God Himself, he still questioned whether God was making fun of him or not due to his lowliness at that moment in time.
