Kindness Rewarded

SUMMARY: A poor woman showed kindness to her daughters by sharing the date-fruit she was about to eat with them, and Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) praised her for it and said that Allah has assured Jannah for her.

'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported: A poor woman came to me carrying her two daughters. I gave her three date-fruits. She gave a date to each of them and then she took up one date-fruit and brought that to her mouth to eat, but her daughters asked her that also. She then divided between them the date-fruit that she intended to eat. This (kind) treatment of her impressed me and I mentioned that to Messenger of Allah who said, 'Verily, Allah has assured Jannah for her, because of (this act) of her," or said, "He (SWT) has rescued her from Hell- Fire". Muslim.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a poor woman who showed kindness to her two daughters by sharing the date-fruit she was about to eat with them. When Prophet Muhammad heard of this act of kindness, he praised the woman and said that Allah has assured Jannah for her as a reward for this kind act. This hadith teaches us that even small acts of kindness can be rewarded greatly by Allah, so we should always strive to show compassion and mercy towards others in our daily lives. It also shows us how important it is to take care of those who are less fortunate than us, especially our own family members. We should always remember that no matter how little we have, we can still share what we have with others in need without expecting anything in return.
