QUICK LESSONS:
Pray on time with full concentration; show respect and take care of your parents; make efforts for God's cause such as helping those in need or spreading knowledge about Islam; do all these deeds sincerely for God's sake alone
EXPLANATIONS:
According to a hadith narrated by Abdullah bin Mas'ud, prayer at its proper time is the most beloved deed to Allah. This means that Muslims should strive to pray their five daily prayers on time and with full concentration. After prayer, kindness towards one's parents is also highly valued by Allah. This includes showing respect for them and taking care of them when they are old or ill. Lastly, jihad in the way of Allah is also highly praised by Him. This does not necessarily mean physical fighting but can include any effort made for His cause such as helping those in need or spreading knowledge about Islam. All these deeds will be rewarded greatly by God if done sincerely for His sake alone.
