Kindness to Loved Ones

SUMMARY: Treating kindly the loved ones of one's father is the finest act of goodness.

'Abdullah bin 'Umar (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: The Prophet said, "The finest act of goodness is that a person should treat kindly the loved ones of his father".
عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما أن النبي قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏إن أبر البر أن يصل الرجل ود أبيه‏"‏‏.‏

It teaches us that we should not only be kind to our own family but also those who are close to them. We should strive for good relationships with all people in order to create a harmonious society. Furthermore, this hadith reminds us that we should always remember our parents and their loved ones in our thoughts and actions as they have done so much for us throughout our lives.
