Sahih al-Bukhari 5301 (Book 68, Hadith 50) #5079
The Shortness of Time Until Judgement Day

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) compared the time between his era and the Day of Judgement to the distance between his middle and index fingers, implying that it is very short.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi: (a companion of Allah's Messenger ) Allah's Messenger , holding out his middle and index fingers, said, "My advent and the Hour's are like this (or like these)," namely, the period between his era and the Hour is like the distance between those two fingers, ie, very short.

QUICK LESSONS:
Stay on track with our faith; strive towards righteousness; spread awareness about judgement day; prepare ourselves spiritually for what lies ahead.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about how close we are to the Day of Judgement. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used a metaphor to explain this concept by comparing it to the distance between his middle and index fingers. This implies that time is very short until judgement day arrives. It serves as a reminder for us to stay on track with our faith and strive towards righteousness in order for us to be prepared when that day comes. We should also take this opportunity to spread awareness about this important event so others can also prepare themselves spiritually for what lies ahead.
