Rewarded for Spending on Others' Children

SUMMARY: Spending on the children of others is rewarded in the Hereafter.

Narrated Um Salama: I said, "O Allah's Messenger ! Shall I get a reward (in the Hereafter) if I spend on the children of Abu Salama and do not leave them like this and like this (ie, poor) but treat them like my children?" The Prophet said, "Yes, you will be rewarded for that which you will spend on them".

QUICK LESSONS:
Spend generously on others' children

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of spending on others’ children and how it will be rewarded in the Hereafter. It is narrated by Um Salama, who asked Prophet Muhammad ﷺ if she would be rewarded if she spent on Abu Salama’s children and treated them like her own. The Prophet ﷺ replied that she would indeed be rewarded for her kind act. This hadith teaches us to always think of those less fortunate than us and to help them out whenever we can, as Allah rewards those who do good deeds with kindness and generosity. We should also remember that our actions are not only judged by Allah but also by our fellow human beings, so it is important to always strive to do good deeds even when no one else is watching.
