Sahih al-Bukhari 5590 (Book 74, Hadith 16) #5365
The Punishment of Those Who Consider Unlawful Things as Lawful

SUMMARY: This hadith warns against those who will consider unlawful things as lawful and will be punished by Allah.

Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari: that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow'. Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith warns against those who will consider unlawful things as lawful. It is narrated by Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash'ari that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful." These are all considered to be haram in Islam and should not be done. The Prophet ﷺ then goes on to say that these people will face a severe punishment from Allah for their actions. He says that they may even be transformed into monkeys and pigs until the Day of Resurrection. This hadith serves as a reminder to us all to stay away from anything that is considered haram in Islam and to always follow what is right according to Islamic teachings.
