The Night of Al-Mi'raj and the Bowls of Milk and Wine

SUMMARY: On the night of Al-Mi'raj, Allah's Messenger was presented with a bowl of milk and a bowl of wine.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger was presented a bowl of milk and a bowl of wine on the night he was taken on a journey (Al-Mi'raj).
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ أُتِيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ لَيْلَةَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ بِقَدَحِ لَبَنٍ وَقَدَحِ خَمْرٍ‏.‏

EXPLANATIONS:
On the night that Prophet Muhammad was taken on a journey known as al-Miraj, he was presented with two bowls - one filled with milk and one filled with wine. This hadith is an example of how Allah rewards those who follow His commands. It also serves as an example to us that we should strive to be obedient to Allah in order for us to receive His blessings. Furthermore, this hadith teaches us that we should not indulge in intoxicants such as alcohol because it is forbidden in Islam. Instead, we should choose healthier alternatives such as milk which are permissible according to Islamic teachings.
