Seeking Protection Before Going To Bed

SUMMARY: This hadith encourages us to be mindful of our actions and to seek protection from Allah before going to bed.

Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet said, "When anyone of you go to bed, he should shake out his bed with the inside of his waist sheet, for he does not know what has come on to it after him, and then he should say: 'Bismika Rabbi Wada'tu Janbi wa bika arfa'uhu, In amsakta nafsi farhamha wa in arsaltaha fahfazha bima tahfazu bihi ibadakas-salihin".

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek protection from Allah before going to sleep by reciting a prayer asking for His mercy and protection.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith encourages us to be mindful of our actions and seek protection from Allah before going to bed. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught that when we go to bed, we should shake out our beds with the inside of our waist sheet, as we do not know what has come on it after us. We should then recite a prayer asking for Allah's protection and mercy, so that He may protect us from any harm or danger while we are asleep. This is an important reminder for all Muslims that they should always remember God in their daily lives, even when they are sleeping. It also teaches us the importance of being mindful of our actions and seeking refuge in God at all times.
