Sahih al-Bukhari 6355 (Book 80, Hadith 52) #6106
Kindness of the Prophet (PBUH) towards Children

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) was very kind and gentle to children, even when they urinated on his clothes.

Narrated 'Aisha: The boys used to be brought to the Prophet and he used to invoke for Allah's blessing upon them. Once an infant was brought to him and it urinated on his clothes. He asked for water and poured it over the place of the urine and did not wash his clothes.

QUICK LESSONS:
Show patience with young ones; Strive to emulate the example set by our beloved Prophet (ﷺ); Show kindness & gentleness towards all children regardless of their age or background; Ask for water instead of washing your clothes if something is spilled on them
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Aisha speaks of the kindness and gentleness of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ towards children. He would often be seen blessing them with supplications for Allah's mercy and blessings upon them. Even when an infant urinated on his clothes, he did not show any anger or annoyance but instead asked for water to pour over it without washing his clothes. This shows us how much love and care he had for children, no matter what happened. It also teaches us that we should be patient with young ones as they are still learning about their environment and how to behave in it. We should also strive to emulate the example set by our beloved Prophet ﷺ in this regard, showing kindness and gentleness towards all children regardless of their age or background.
