QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings correctly and sincerely; Offer more than one rakat in a witir prayer if possible/desired/needed .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by 'Abdullah bin Tha’laba bin Su’air and it talks about Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas offering one rak’ah only for the witr prayer. Witr is a special type of prayer that Muslims perform at night after Isha prayers. It consists of an odd number of rakats which can range from 1 to 11. In this particular hadith, Sa'd was seen offering only one rakat for his witr prayer. This shows us that even though it is recommended to offer more than one rakat in the witr prayer, it is still permissible to offer just one if needed or desired. This teaches us that we should not be too strict with ourselves when performing religious duties and should not put too much pressure on ourselves as long as we are following the teachings of Islam correctly and sincerely.
