Praying for Those Who Bring Alms

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) would pray for those who brought alms to him, and once he prayed for the family of Abi 'Aufa.

Narrated Ibn Abi 'Aufa: Whenever somebody brought alms to the Prophet the used to say, "Allahumma Salli 'Alaihi (O Allah! Send Your Salat (Grace and Honor) on him)". Once when my father brought his alms to him, he said, "O Allah! Send Your Salat (Grace and Honor) on the family of Abi 'Aufa".
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى، قَالَ كَانَ إِذَا أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ بِصَدَقَتِهِ قَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ‏"‏ فَأَتَاهُ أَبِي بِصَدَقَتِهِ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى آلِ أَبِي أَوْفَى‏"‏

This hadith speaks about the importance of charity and gratitude. When someone brings alms to the Prophet (PBUH), he would pray for them, asking Allah to send His salat upon them. It is also a reminder that our prayers are powerful and can bring blessings from Allah upon those whom we pray for.
