This hadith speaks to the importance of companionship in Islam. It was narrated that Simak bin Harb said that he asked Jabir bin Samurah if he used to sit with the Messenger of Allah after fajr prayer. Jabir replied yes and explained that when the Prophet Muhammad had prayed fajr, he would stay in the same place until sunrise and his companions would talk about things from before Islam such as reciting poetry or laughing and smiling. This shows us how important it is for Muslims to spend time together in a positive way by talking about meaningful topics or simply enjoying each other's company through laughter or smiles.
