Fasting Not Necessary Every Day

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that fasting every day of one's life is not necessary and does not make up for the missed days.

It was narrated that 'Imran said: "It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, so and so never broke his fast, even for one day for the rest of his life'. He said: 'He has neither fasted nor broken his fast""'.Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted".

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings with balance and moderation

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Imran and Ibn 'Umar teaches us that fasting every day of one's life is not necessary. This was in response to a question posed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He said that someone who fasts every day has neither fasted nor broken his fast. This means that it is important to take breaks from fasting in order to appreciate its value and benefit from it spiritually. It also teaches us the importance of moderation when it comes to religious practices, as too much can be detrimental rather than beneficial. Furthermore, this hadith emphasizes the importance of following Islamic teachings with balance and moderation rather than taking extreme measures or going overboard with religious practices.
