Fasting Every Day of Life Not Considered Fasting

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that fasting every day of one's life is not considered fasting.

It was narrated from Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir: "My father told me that he heard the Messenger of Allah say, when mention was made in his presence of a man who fasted for the rest of his life: 'He neither fasted nor broke his fast"'. 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have a balanced lifestyle with moderate eating habits and regular fasting practices.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir and Ibn Umar teaches us that fasting every day of one's life is not considered as true fasting. This hadith was mentioned in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad, who said that a man who fasts for the rest of his life has neither fasted nor broken his fast. This means that it is important to have a balance between eating and fasting in order to be able to practice true self control and piety. It also teaches us about moderation in our daily lives, as we should not overdo any good deed or action but rather strive for balance and moderation in all aspects of our lives.
