QUICK LESSONS:
Follow Islamic teachings on fasting

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that fasting every day of one's life is not considered fasting. This hadith was narrated by Mutarrif bin 'Abdullah bin Ash-Shikhkhir from his father, and someone who heard the Prophet said that Ibn 'Umar also reported this hadith. This means that it is not necessary to fast every single day in order to be a good Muslim; rather, it is important to fast during certain days and times as prescribed by Islamic teachings. It also teaches us the importance of moderation in our religious practices; we should strive for balance between spiritual and worldly pursuits so as to lead a balanced life.
