Fasting Three Days of Each Month

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) recommended fasting three days of each month as a good practice.

'Uthman bin Abi Al-As said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'It is a good fast to fast three days of each month".
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، أَنَّ مُطَرِّفًا، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ أَبِي الْعَاصِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏ "‏ صِيَامٌ حَسَنٌ ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ
