Sunan an-Nasai 2456 (Book 23, Hadith 22) #17067
The Consequences of Not Paying Zakah

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the importance of paying Zakah on camels, cattle and sheep, and the consequences of not doing so.

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said: "The Messenger of Allah said: There is no owner of camels, cattle or sheep who does not give Zakah on them, but they will come on the Day of Resurrection as big and fast as they ever were, and will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hooves. Every time the last of them has run over him the first of them will come back to him, until judgment is passed among the people".

QUICK LESSONS:
Give charity/Zakat on your animals when you can afford it.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the importance of paying Zakah on camels, cattle and sheep. It was narrated by Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah said that if an owner does not give charity on their animals, they will come back to them on Judgment Day as big and fast as they ever were. They will gore him with their horns and trample him with their hooves until judgment is passed among people. This hadith teaches us that we should be generous in giving charity to those who are in need, especially when it comes to our animals. We should also remember that our actions have consequences; if we do not pay Zakah or give charity then we will face a difficult situation in the hereafter.
