Sunan an-Nasai 2531 (Book 23, Hadith 97) #17142
Greed and Wealth

SUMMARY: Wealth should not be taken with greed, as it will not be blessed. The upper hand is better than the lower hand.

Sa'eed and 'Urwah narrated that they heard Hakim bin Hizam say: "I asked the Messenger of Allah and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me, then I asked him and he gave me. Then he said: "This wealth is attractive and sweet. Whoever takes it without insisting, it will be blessed for him, and whoever takes it with avarice, it will not be blessed for him. He is like one who eats and is not satisfied. And the upper hand is better than the lower hand"'.

QUICK LESSONS:
Take wealth without insisting on having more than what you need

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about wealth and how it should be taken. It warns against taking wealth with greed, as it will not be blessed for the person who takes it in this way. Instead, one should take wealth without insisting on having more than what they need, as this will bring blessings to them instead of dissatisfaction. The hadith also mentions that the upper hand is better than the lower hand; this means that giving away or donating money is better than keeping all of your money for yourself.
